Comedy producer, radio host, podcaster and graphic designer - Vicky Hanlon knows funny business. Vicky is a life-long comedy fan, and since beginning her career in 2015 has helped curate and promote some of the best weekly comedy rooms in Melbourne. Vicky has also appeared as a guest on several radio programs and podcasts, and co-hosts two podcasts of her own, ‘Vic and Em’s Comedy Gems’, alongside comedian Emily Tresidder, and ‘The Corporate Box’, alongside Ange Thompson, where she got to interview former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. No biggie. She is also the co-founder of Commit To Your Jokes with comedian Claire Hagan, a comedy collective dedicated to promoting and supporting diversity in comedy. In 2018, she started her own production company, Hands Down Comedy, dedicated to independent artists.

Vicky began her comedy career in radio, producing weekly shows for Joy 94.9 including ‘Popchops!’ and ‘The Triple Threat Breakfast Show’, before going on to host her own show on RRR, ‘Triple Ha’, with Comedy Gems co-host Emily Tresidder. They now host a weekly show on Joy 94.9, every Wednesday 6.30pm chatting to comedians from all over the world. Vicky has also appeared on several programs as a guest, including ABC Radio Melbourne with Jon Faine, Joy 94.9 Laugh Out Proud, Syn Radio In Joke, and the ‘What Do You Make?’ podcast.

In 2015 she began running Rookie Nights Open Mic at The Imperial, and has since run several successful weekly line-up shows including Hawthorn Comedy Club, Tuesday Night Comedy at The Imperial, Quick Bites Comedy at Boney, Friday Night Bites and Sunday Comedy at The Toff in Town.

Since 2019, she has co-run every festival at the Coopers Inn with comedian Brett Blake. On top of this, she produces many independent acts each year, including Pat McCaffrie, The Breast of The Fest, Elyce Phillips, Dave Hynes, Donna Collins, Katherine Allan and Gamze Kirik, as well as running showcase shows at multiple venues.

As well as producing weekly line-up shows, Vicky was also a co-producer of Lemon Comedy - a monthly comedy showcase dedicated to promoting diversity in comedy with shows in both Melbourne and London. In 2017 as part of Commit To Your Jokes, she launched Test Lab Comedy, a monthly night where established stand-ups workshop new material in front of an audience.
